I don't really know, your keyword is rety cool and it is a great dictionarry word, but it stand for nothing with the .ca.

I would say very high xx$, low xxx$.

You shouldn't concentrate yourself on the .ca. The .com, .co.uk, .net, .org are better domain to choose.

Hope that my appraisal is correct, because it's could worth more. You should keep it for sometimes in the vault.

I'm also going to take a guess that a solid .ca would do better in Canada than a net or an org. Canada's economy is red hot right now, with the dollar trading higher than that of the US greenbank.

Could you please explain in more detail why you think that a generic word, that is short, can easily be developed into any retail or commercial site and is a word with 26 million google returns in the .ca tld is worthless? .CA is second only to .com in Canada, especially in relation to real commerce.

Also, how did you come to the conclusion that this generic word would sell for high $xx or low $xxx?

While being a Canadian myself might make this a little biased, I wholeheartedly agree. It's short, rememberable (sp.), and trustworthy, and it's the perfect TLD for any Canadian business, unlike some other ccTLD's out there.

Hopefully, i have said " Hope that my appraisal is correct". Yes the Canada economy is very hot thoses last days, i think that 1Cad = 1.07USD, But is the .ca, this much on demand?

I don't have your experience "tpruby" but I have made my appraisal based on a Marketing view. All major Canadian Compagnies don't use the ".ca", A lot of them are using ".com". I will take in exemple "Videotron" and his Mother "Quebecor Média", even if there activities are based on the Canda, they are using a .com as a main Tld. There is "Bell", "FutureShop" and "BestBuy" That are using a ".ca" but it is because there are interntional firms and they have tookied a ".ca" for there Canadian Activities.

Now let go back to the Canadian Dollar, yes he have grown up very fast when "The Consetvators party" have taken the Power. But this growth have also a bad effect on the canadian economyon their exportation, because now the products are more expensive. Also, The canadian dollar, now more powerfull that the Usd, is comming very helpfull for the canadian, because they can now buy more things for less in foreign countries. What is the country down to Canada? The usa. The price difference Between Canada and THe Usa is veru high. If you buy something in Usa, you will buy it 30% more expensive In Canada, even if the canadian dollar have grown.
Knowing this, the canadians, have started to go to the Usa buying all the good stuffs like Cars, Ipods, TVs, etc, because they are less expensive. So why would i a company spend much money on a ".ca" domain, where his prices are gonna be 30% more expensive than the USA and where the big majority of canadian people are going to the south to buy.

I think that right now, it's not the good moment to sell "Obtain.ca", he should wait until at least the new year( 1january 2008), because the "TPS"(Federal canadian Taxe) is gonna decreased to 5% instead of 6%. Also, the minister of the economy "Jim Flaherty" have said=" The canadian compagnies should lower there prices to have better profits". Why he have said that? Because by decreasing the prices and with the new taxe decreasement, canadian people are gonna more buy in canadian stores and this will give the canadian economy a great boost.

So this is why I think that he should wait before selling his domain. Also "gemstar", you should do a free Domain Evaluation to know if it is premium at: http://www.domainvaluation.com/ and tell us the results, i am not sure that you are gonna have a high ranking(maybe), it will be probaly a premium domain in a ranking of [400, 550] no more.
