i recently purchased a blog and i need help getting it set up on my godaddy hosting without losing any posts, plugins, layout, etc. seller hasn't been helpful.

I was able to back up files from the old host which had cpanel. I did a WP backup from within WP dashboard, and the backed things up with cPanel per some instructions i saw online. Godaddy doesn't have cpanel so those files won't translate well. Godaddy tech support: well, they don't help with that and told me it was nearly impossible. um, nooo it's not!

thanks for any help you can provide.

What I can think about is the following :
- Make a backup from your old cPanel for your database
- Make a backup for all your wordpress files from your old FTP folder
- Create a new database in your new admin panel (whatever it is, there has to be an option to access MySQL panel)
- Upload your database file to your new database (There is an option to import/export databse)
- Upload your files to your new FTP folder
- Make some changes to the configuration file of your wordpress script (config.php or something like that, in "include" folder I guess) in order to correct the web site url, databse name, database admin username, ...

Hope I helped ..
