1) Lets say, myntra.com is an online clothing e-store. I wanna open a used cars e-store, to buy and sell used cars. If myntracars.com domain is available, can i buy it? If i buy it, will i be sued by owner of myntra.com?

2) Again, lets say, myntra.com is an online clothing e-store. I also want to start a clothing e-store. If myntraplus.com or myntrapro.com is available, can i buy it? If i buy it, will i be sued by owner of myntra.com?

I would say, more than anything else, is that you have no concept in how to register a unique domain name of your own without infringing on somebody else trademarks. Which you are obviously doing with the e-clothing store example. Whether you get sued on not would depend on the trademark owner deciding to protect their trademark. You might get away with it in the car e-store example, because you are not in the same business. But it still shows a lack of imagination. Who would want to buy a used car from a website which is named after a clothing store? Get original and register your own unique domain or buy one cheap at GoDaddy Auctions.

Your question makes it seem like you're purposely trying to infringe upon or profit off of someone else's hard work and possibly registered trademark. I think it would be best if you tried to come up with your own unique name.

I agree with @stub and @bigdomainer . I suggest you drop your idea of registering a similar name to an established brand and get a head-start into building your own brand name.

I am answering your question just for information purpose. I do not encourage you to go with it.

To answer your question,
1. Yes, you can register myntracars.com and use it to sell cars. The name Myntra would be trademarked only for the products it is dealing with so selling something not related to the Brand's products is safe (AFAIK).

2. No, you cannot register a variation of an existing brand name to use the name in selling the same products of the Brand. It is illegal and you will be sued not only for the infringement of misusing the name but also for any other damages that might come of your action to the Brand Name.

I would respectfully disagree with the other speakers on one point: generally, there is no ethical (or legal) problem using myntra-something names, as long as your business is sufficiently different in nature. Almost every word is multi-purpose, meaning different things in different languages.

@Nerevar - I never said there was anything ethically or legally wrong with using myntrasomething for a 2nd-hand car business, I just argued that it would be better to find a better name for the business. There are plenty of better names in GoDaddy Closeouts. But there is something wrong if the OP wanted to use myntrasomething for an online clothing e-store.
