If this happened in Texas, he would have been executed decades ago, but instead it cost California tax payers $90,000 a year to house this piece of shit.

So essentially instead of receiving the death penalty, which he was sentenced to, he only got life and cost the taxpayers of California about $2 million dollars. Imagine how many good things could have been done with that money.

I've always thought it's a worse punishment to lock someone in solitary for the rest of their lives, than killing them.

I don’t think death penalty is a punishment. It’s basically freeing someone from all troubles.

It can be argued for only from deterrence viewpoint.
