Hi all,

My father has owned this domain for over 20 years now and a few days ago Caesar's Entertainment has reached out asking to have the domain transferred to them while stating that we were infringing on trademark laws. This domain has never been used and was in no way ever purchased with the intention of infringing on Caesar's Entertainment's trademarks.

I am assuming that they want this domain because it would be valuable to them, they already own caesarslasvegas.com which redirects to their main website caesars.com. That being said I do not think that it would be fair for them to just take it without compensation to my father.

Can anyone suggest how much this domain could be worth and if possible any advice on how to proceed with this? References for great domain / trademark lawyers are also welcomed.

Good luck, anyway you have our various opinions. As far as whether caesarslasvegas dot com (which Caesar's Ent. owns) is not likely to be confused with caesarsvegas dot com ... yeah. Plus you gotta consider the TM(s) involved as well, whatever those might be.

Since you have taken up our time at least have the courtesy to come back and update us after the chips have fallen.

I have been sued for as generic a name as can be and I won.
Let me tell you just be happy they are asking for it and not filing a lausuit and asking for damages and attorney fees.
Bye the way, your father is the exact reason domainers are given a bad name as in cybersqatters.
So, he had no intention of infringing on their trademark huh????

Why would anyone need to the word Caesars to describe anything in Vegas???

Regardless of weather you set up the parking page or not ,it leads to ads that when clicked on may or may not cause a sale that network solutions will be compensated on ,and if a sale does take place it prevented caesars of taking the whole deal.It seems like the domain was regged to profit off the back of the co.
Call the company and ask them to at least pay for the back registrations ,if they bring up a suit against you I think they would need 2k to start.So you can just ignore and they may offer you something.I would tell them you have no access to the account and are willing to do the leg work to transfer if they put you up for a few days, All this being said you don’t have a snowballs chance in hell if they try to take the domain
