First, sorry if this is in the wrong board. This isn't exactly Website or Business Development, and it's certainly not "Web Development Wanted", so I think it fits best here.
I've been thinking up a new computer program idea. Essentially, it's a type of operating environment. I can't do this myself and seek some partners. Objective: To increase usability and reliability of a standard computer workstation.
(I can tell you more if you express a true interest.)
For those of you that can code but can't do the graphics thing, this is perfect, because the idea is to remove the graphical element from particular text- or data-based routines. It sounds like a step backward, but this is just the tip of the melting icebergs up in Greenland (
), so don't make judgments and definitely not suggestions yet please!
I'm looking for people with some spare time. As a college student, I of course have classes and work, but there is some downtime between because, after homework, I have no social life.
I intend for this project to generate revenue. Because it's at such an early stage, we'll be thinking up the concept at first, thinking how we want this to work, and specifics of that. This includes how we expect to generate a profit! Because it's a relatively unique idea (from the research I did), we could go several ways for the money aspect.
After we do that, we'll be designing basic flowcharts and pattern diagrams. We'll eventually model a UML diagram and start to code it.
After expressing interest I will tell you more. I even have a conceptual screenshot mock-up for those that are willing to help contribute!
I think you'll find it a fun and unique project. I hope.
Again, I'm not expecting any time allotment on your part, because this is just a side project for all of us, especially for me. (and I'm obviously not your 'employer' or anything) So basically, I'm looking for volunteers at this point. I just want to play around with the idea.
Interested? Send me a PM, contact me on my website, email me, or reply.
-Matt
PS. It's basically a necessity that you know at least one or two of the following: C, C++, .NET (C# preferred), PHP, SQL (not necessarily MySQL), XML concepts and usage, Javascript, XHTML/CSS. Other generic programming languages are probably okay too. Just know something!
