No ,Ryan It does work that way
Doesn't matter where you buy it ,it has a renewal after the regged period finishes
You can reg .com's for periods of upto 10 yrs ,but still has to renewed in ten yrs time
I know you are having trouble getting the money for your .com
PM me and I will work out a special price for you.

Well, think about it... Could a Domain registering company last for 3 centuries?

Plus, domain name registrars intend to milk you of your money slowly instead of getting a bucket load at once :p

I dun think such registrar ever exists. A domain will expires and you have to renew it no matter where you reg it. The max is 10 years.

If u ask for "is there any" i may answer "Yes". My country cctld makes a rule that we just pay once for lifetime for some tld, eg. .or.id and .net.id, but that rule will change soon :)

No way to do that for .com's.

If you give me $10,000 I'll give you a lifetime registration, but all I'll do is make sure I renew it every year. The same thing those rip-offs are doing that claim "lifetime" registrations.

Well they're not allowing that because Microsoft or Google might be interested in your domains! So they will just sue you and get them for free... :( I betthey will take over .com s in 5 years.

i tire of things fast so i would never register a life-time thingy. besides, technology is progressing so fast, in a hundred years, maybe domains would be out.
