I think GH recognises that this "sport" is obscene, and will either let this reg drop or let it act as a witness site to all that is so cruel about humanity.

Killing the bull at the end is actually the biggest favor they can do for the poor beast once they are done with the torture.....

I am certainly not judging you at all GH, and I mean that. I believe you regged the name in good faith, not realising for a second how inhumane, cruel and violent this sick practice actually is.......

Colognes and Perfumes are made from whale fat. That does not make Whales.tv a bad reg, imo. It is all what you do with the site. At this point it is just a domain name that has just as much potential becoming a pro save the bull website as FIX to become a pro rehab site and not a pro drug site, imo.

It was mentioned already that the site could act as a deterrant, education, rather than a promotion of the "sport". This has never been about a personal attack on GH - whom as DB already mentioned, is a decent guy, and whom I mentioned, regged the name in good faith.

However, I must point out that yor analogy to WHALES.TV or FIX.TV is misguided.

Whales as a reggged name has nothing inherently connnected to perfume being made from whale fat, nor has Fix.TV have anything inherent in the name about beng either a pro or anti drug promotion.

Indeed, FIX could be reated to fixing up a house, fixing your credit etc etc & WHALES.TV could be about super rich people who walk into a casino ready to spend big bucks.

BULLFIGHTS on the other hand can ONLY mean one thing and one thing only.....the ugly practice that as you say, 80% of Spain is already against.....

I have to say, hearing that 80% of Spain is against it.. gives me some comfort and hope.

I also want to add that I totally understand and support 'tradition' and 'heritage' but there are some things that are simply inhumane, and wrong, and as people.. as humans, we must move forward and continue to improve ourselves, to evolve. Remember, at one time... slavery was common place, women didn't have the right to vote, and cigarettes were not believed to be unhealthy. We've come a long way. No time to stop now.

When you say "pc" meaning "politically correct" I have to respectfully disagree.

I can't speak for anybody else, but I don't say things to be pc, or to satisfy/please any group, individual, or party. I only say what comes from my heart and mind.

And from my heart and mind -- I feel that people who needlessly torture and kill ANY living creature should be buried underneath the jail, after rotting there for many years. I suppose that makes my feelings nice and clear.

That being said, I will gladly delete my comments, or any others in the thread, if you find them offensive.

Couldn't agree more, this a matter very close to my heart.

With regard to the name, i look at this way, it is a good type in domain,which i would much rather have someone use to denounce this sick "tradition" than to promote it.
Actually this has just given me an idea,back in a bit!

of course, before we have a total meltdown about the horrors of bullfighting, we should, if we were being non-hypocritical, take a look a bit closer to home...because the way most meat in the US is produced is in conditions that are pretty atrocious to the animals that one day end up as our hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc

Most farm animals in the US do not live in anything that you would recognize from popular imagination as a "farm." They live in cramped, painful, unnatural, inhumane condititions and then we slaughter them and eat them. If anyone cares, I can dig up the references, but trust me, it is pretty horrible.

I am not defending bullfighting and I am not a vegetarian (though I am pretty sure that morally I ought to be), but before we go fix the Spanish of their sins, there is a whole lot of ugliness here at home that I would imagine 90%+ of this board is directly complicit in. (e.g. do you eat animals one to three times a day). And the number of animals that suffer for our palate is probably close to 100,000x more than the number of bulls that suffer for Spain's heritage. The bulls are tortured for 20-30 minutes and they die. Our farm animals might be killed quickly but are miserable for most of their lives.



Anyway, that is enough "deep thoughts" for one day! JMO of course. Have zero intention of hurting anyone's feelings!
