Nice to see the hardware section of you life is still as strong as ever! The north-west, indeed, the whole of the UK, has a slightly different view of .TV than much of the rest of the world - and I note that the majority of correspondents, so far, have been from the USA.
In the context of your other collection pieces this one is ideal. However, I feel, as a stand-alone, the name would not be the greatest reseller ever on a domain sale front - but could really come up trumps from a development point of view.
Every house in the UK (Stick to the market you know best) is being encouraged to change their light bulbs. Indeed, every UK electricity company is being pushed, legally statuted, environmentally pursuaded, consumer required, AND SUBSIDISED to assist its customers in reducing their carbon emissions.
Some of the three-prong (yes, three prong) low-emission bulbs cost over ยฃ10 each and a govt subsidised, utility sponsored, manufacturer filmed channel dedicated purely to helping each and every electricity customer in the UK get the best from their bulbs would be a wonderful means of pushing forward a low-carbon goal and educating people.
1. Bulbs could be given free from utility companies (indeed, I have four in my draw that were sent just recently from my provider FREE-OF-Charge to get me started).
2. The impact that can be made to the world from a chnage to a better type of bulb coild easily be explored televisually to pass on the message.
3. The aesthetic impact of using the correct type of bulb could be explored to improve the home
4. The cost savings argument could be conveyed very simply in a televisual manner.
5. The hundreds of different types of bulb could be sold like any other successful web-seller shop.
I could go on, but I just wanted to get across that - as a domain - this stinks - but as a concept it really could have legs - if you had the heart and energy to go with it.
