Picked this up from recently. It used to be a website promoting a Bride Guide, that was actually pretty well known. Would appreciate your opinion on what it's worth.

Thanks!

Catchy name. Unfortunately if you don't have a clear vision on what type of product this domain could have. I am afraid it may not be worth much. I doubt it is bringing high traffic.

But...with all that said. I will give you a good target estimate. $3000 MAX
That is based on having no website. If you create a product then i would have to rethink my estimate.

Thanks theinvestor!

I have it temporarily parked now. Though I don't expect TONS of traffic, sometimes names like this can surprise you. I'm hoping that's the case! This wasn't a name I bought for traffic, but more it's development potential. Like you pointed out with your analysis. When I put the word "bride guide" in Google (with the quotations) it comes back with close to 900k results. Lots of bride guides out there....

May I ask what you paid for it and where you found it?

Nice catch. Around low to mix x,xxx IMO.

Giode,

This is a pretty nice pickup. I could see this going to an end-user for roughly 2-5k. Atleast, thats what I would be looking for if I were taking it to an end-user. I like it quite a bit, its short and sweet and obviously completely brandable. Nearly all other TLD's taken, which is always a good sign of a solid domain name (assuming, not taken by you).

I also assume since this kept its age and it expired soon enough, you probably snapped this up at Snap? Not sure what you paid, but if you got it for close to backorder, you made out very well!

Thanks Spade and redtophank!

Spade: Thanks for the very detailed appraisal! Great info! I actually purchased this from the previous owner. She once had a Bride Guide that she published, but with a growing family didn't have the time to pursue this anymore. I paid well for it (within appraisal range), and plan to develop (eventually). I just renewed it today. Unfortunately I had to renew at NSI and pay their rediculous prices. They put a 3 week block on transferring domains out after they just change hands.

One thing I am confused about is the real age of this domain. Most Whois tools say 2003, but Domain Tools says 1998. Archive.org seems to indicate there was history leading back to the late 90's. Not sure why the discrepancy?

Because the domain is currently with NSI - their whois SHOULD be the most accurate. Based on that, it looks like the domain dates back to 2003, not 1998 (despite the Archive.org results).

I think this is a great one for development. Good luck with it!

Nice name I could see this going over 10k if you wait for the right enduser a ton of businesses cater to brides and wedding days and there just arent many simple domains like this out there
good luck

Giode, i have been thinking a lot about the domain and have some new feedback for you. I am thinking if you were to create some type of Magazine or newsletter that it could potentially be very profitable from a product stand point. Especially since a guide can always be changing for weddings. Example: A winter wedding, a fall wedding, expensive weddings, cheap weddings. You could really use that information and create a product that will be beneficial.

I think i would try to brainstorm and see what you are able to develop in the future. That's what will make the price of the domain to be high valued.

Good luck

Fatter, thanks! Your right, there aren't many bride/wedding domains left anymore. Thanks for the appraisal!

Man, I feel like I should be paying you for the time you have put into providing a fair appraisal! Completely appreciate it!

A magazine or newsletter huh? Great idea! I need to do a lot of "learning" first before I even attempted to undertake something like that. It would be like a butcher writing about jewelery, LOL. Or a guy writing about feminine hygiene....you get the point! Fortunately my wife did ALL the planning for our wedding.

I think you are on to something though, and at the very least will develop a site with paid advertisers and relevant "how to" articles.

Thanks again!

Reseller prices around 1k

This is, however, a purely end user domain. Weddings are a huge business, we all know. And they can get messy and complicated. So a guide would be very apt.
End user could fetch anything between 5 to 10k.

My gut instincts tell me that some Indian end user might want it...such 'Bride Guides' are especially popular in the Indian culture. Shoot the people at Shaadi.com (an Indian website) an email. They might want it.

It's a nice domain, very developable. But kinda limitative, bridestore would have been a hit. Nonetheless it could be developed as a magazine as suggested above.
Low $$$$
PS: according to the registry the domain was created on 07 Nov 1998 :]

I love this name. I can see finding a reseller sale in the $4-5k range, and end user / perfect buyer $25k+ (sky's the limit).

Good luck!
