.tv Break time from Freaky Thursday

Just sat down with a beer and I'm shaking (literally) after a bizarre day!

After the purchase of some big names this morning in enom's special offer I thought all was well and actually went to my children's parents evening at school feeling mighty happy with myself.

I got back and whoa, the feeding frenzy happened. No night out as planned, and my meal was on my lap (which never happens)

I had done my homework (as have MANY others here) and bought premium names like a crazy guy at standard prices.

I don't actually know how many names I've bought it has been that fast and furious. I'll make a full account to myself in the morning.

And my credit cards and paypal are emptier than a whisky bottle at Mel Gibson's house!!!!

I know some did VERY well and are very ahead of the game - well done to them all and thanks for throwing some crumbs our way in the latter stages of the game.

If it is anything, I've also found a well-known registrar that charges about $9 for a .TV name.

What a weird day. Certainly a game changer.

You've got to smile - I bought a name for $8 this evening that I spent nearly a day last year discussing whether to buy for a project we were building - before deciding the price was too high.

Enjoy the break - and then get back to work when round three starts at 9pm Pacific Time (Which I have no idea about, but can now believe anything will happen!!!)

I bought 8 so far, and could still buy a crapload more names at the price I was planning on spending for just 1 of these.

My celebration was about the names I bought directly from Deborah at ENOM which WERE premium and are now 'officially' standard regs.

Are you assuming that ALL Premium renewal fees are now completely gone ... including those existing Premium .TV domains that are already in circulation? If not, and they are in fact "cherry picking" (as I believe DS termed it in another thread) ... that is a logistical (and still very much a potential LEGAL) headache! :cy: :imho:

Righto, that's why I prefaced it with ""cherry picking" (as I believe DS termed it in another thread)" ... "nightmare" was my quote from earlier, however. And, agree, there are a LOT of active threads & intertwined .TV discussions going on right now; hopefully we'll get some answers and clarifications over the next day or so. :gl:
