Brannans auction - Wtf

Want to tell you guys about my expirience with this company. Brannans.com - David Clements and I guess Toby too .

There was a first Brannans auction in March, than was a second one (as I remember in the end of April). On a second I submitted a name with a $25K reserve. Got an email from David shortly informing me that the reserve is too high. Okay. I replied with a lower reserve and silence.
After the second auction started I mailed David asking if my reserve is too high? He replied - replied me back telling that my new reserve was OK and it was kinda misunderstanding and they will list my name in a next auction (third - it started today).
They sent me a contract and I signed it and sent it back. I gave them 60 days exclusivity and didnt market my name (I made it in the beginning of May).
Yesterday according to the emails and info on the site there was a start of the third auction.
The auction wasn't started, so I mailed David asking when there would be a start. I got a reply today - with apologies and info that they have too many names and they need to choose.
Now I came back home - auction strated - and guess what? There is no my domain in the list

Just my expirience.

Aw Nick very sorry to hear that. You know what you need to do now right? Sell that name for $25k and then they will feel bad! :D

I mean they still have the default drupal favicon in their site.. I mean can you really trust people like that? [/sarcasm] :P

Well, the not nice thing was that during the time I waited I got some interest from some people - but of course I said name is not for sale.
Anyway - now I won't make such mistakes.

Avoid brokers...

I'm not surprised. I sold them the domain name. They were totally unprofessional. Using a lot of swear words and implied threats during negotiations. Not upfront about who they were (to be expected). Not the kind of approach you would have expected from such a highly respected domain broker. As Makis.tv has implied with his terse "avoid brokers" comment. Brokers are in the broking business primarily for themselves. Your needs or concerns are way down their list of priorities.
