hey
iam also kind of new, but still i will share with you some of the knowladge i got the past month
there is a great tool for key words whice is http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
if you want to see how much google will ppc the key words u can check this one
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
wordtracker is also a great tool to estimate the value of a domain and to see how many ppl search a day those keywords ,
there is a lot to understand about domain ( a LOT !) so i will tell you when i been hearing a lot, its better at start not to buy domains at all ! what you might think worth gold , would be just reg fee most of the times, sense you lack the understanding of what give a domain name its value,
i stop buying any domains for now and just keep on trying to learn from the guys that have the experine around here ( check the estimate fourm-you can learn a lot from there)

as i get it from the old members, there are basic two main ways in domain's
flipping a domain, whice is buying and quickly selling for quick profit
and the second : developing, geting a domain whice have good chance but no current high value and developing it into a brand ,building a web site, seo
just think what was google.com was worth when the internet just started...reg fee i would guess
there is a very good post in this newbie forum (sticky on the top) read it , a lot of great info there

I have been domaining for a few years now and do ok.

So here is my advice.

Dont just register a domain because its available!

Do your homework. . .

Check Google & Yahoo for how often the domain term i.e. the Keyword is searched for on a monthly basis.

Then think do you want to park this name or develop it . . .

Park where Sedo - Parked - Namedrive? Who is best for this domain?

Develop - Full blown development can cost $,$$$ or you can build your own minisite for Free using a site like Noomle and get ranked in SE.

There is so much to learn in a short time - I would say dont rush in spend time on NPs and ask lots of questions most people want to help you out.

If I can help more drop me a pm.

Regards,

Robbie

First I would look at the reported name sales at namepros and see what type of names are selling.

Ask questions PM people most people on here are very nice and happy to chat.

Read blogs I have a new blog, Rob has a great blog and others to Look at domaining.com

probably not

What is the best way to start making some return on cashparked site.

assuming you already have the domains that get good relevant traffic, parked.com. if you can't get into parked, i like NameDrive

Is there anything else I should know?

it's more important to sustain a modest interest vs. a burst that doesn't last long. keep your budget to less than $100/mo if that, starting off

Just read topics in Domain names section in Namepros and keep asking questions. Better you get a idea of it before start investing. Good luck !
