Hi everyone.

Does anybody know anything about .com.br domain sales?

To be more specific, I want to know:

  1. is it common to buy/sell domains with this ccTLD?
  2. is there any good place to do that (again, I'm talking about .br domains)?
  3. any potential buyers/sellers around here (or even outside)?
  4. can I check a list of these sales anywhere on the internet?

For now, that's it. Thanks for your atention :)

Just a follow-up question:

Are .com domains popular in Brazil, or do most people prefer to buy/visit com.br sites (I am considering buying a .com which is a keyword in Portuguese)?

Thanks
euroflash.... .com is popular but is losing popularity fast. At least that is what I am seeing in my good .com Portuguese domains and on the streets, TV, magazines, etc.. in Brazil. Each year the uniques get less on my .coms ....however click prices are increasing some so that offsets the lower uniques for now.

I will not be buying any more Portuguese .com's anymore. I have enough. I will only be buying .com.br domains from here on out.

I went to Brazil for most of December 2008 and .com.br is used everywhere now. It was not like that three years ago.... you would see a lot more .com domains. The shift to .com.br is happening fast b/c, I believe, of the perceived notion of better relevance at the .com.br than .com which are probably largely foreign owned and not developed as much.

Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot. Very interesting and helpful!

It is nice, in a way, to see that Brazil is beginning to have succes with their own extension.

I will reconsider buying that Portuguese .com...
