Yup the best way to learn is by doing Don't worry about the name, you can delete it or just let it expire.
It's a good idea to check for trademarks before you register a name. There are a few sites you can use for this here's one:

Imagine theirs a USA trademark for magicleap has an example, and im the owner of magicleap.es that works in the same category has magicleap.com and since .es is a country extension for Spain i went to the spain trademark database and i found out theirs no trademark for magic leap in Spain because the USA trademark owner didnt register the trademark for that word in Spain.

Am i infringing any trademark for magicleap by owning magicleap.es??

Delete is instead. Perhaps you can get the regfee back minus the icann fee. If NP really wanted that name they would have registered it. I can't see why they would need it or want it.

I'm not a lawyer and do not claim to be a pro when it comes to trademarks. The internet is the internet in my opinion and if you register or own a domain name term that has a trademark with the intention to sell to or make money from a brand operating under that trademark term then I would steer clear. magicleap.com could be used for many purposes as it is a generic term, if you were to develop it into a site or service that does not fall into the same niche as the owners of the .com then I would think you should be safe.

Good point. I would like to believe NP would allow this member to delete the domain without taking legal action.

I recommend that you contact your registrar immediately and have them delete the domain name. We will consider its prompt deletion an act of good faith and consider this resolved. We understand that new investors make mistakes, but we expect you to quickly correct those mistakes once you're informed.
