The big G will be mighty PO'd and AOL likely would not sell to them (but than again money talks).

If it happens expect some ability to fast track your DMOZ listing with some exchange of cash for their "review services".

same line of thinking or they will do away with the editor system in dmoz since that's almost dead already.

I am one of the 81,000 DMOZ editors and will say that the system going on now isn't the best. Right when I got accepted, I was met with over 100 unapproved listings which I had to go through. It takes an average 2 minutes to go through each listing as most are deleted and you need to state why. Usually have to browse the site for a solid minute to see if it's legit.

A faster system would be welcomed by all of us. Maybe paying editors, but they would need to review say at least 25 sites a day to be elgible for payment. I know for my category, there is only 1 other editor. I hope whom ever potentially buys them addresses how they will fix that issue.
