Hopefully someone can help with this...
When checking my website's logs, I have a visitor with the IP 74.6.8.102 ...whatismyipaddress.com says that it's the Yahoo Bot, but it ALSO says that this particular IP, unlike the other Yahoo Bot IP's, is a "Confirmed Proxy". (might want to check for yourself... it'll say it in red)
I've been suspecting someone bombing my site via fake IP's for a while now (one month, the Yahoo bot used up 20 gigs of bandwidth when it was banned in my robots.txt file... and my site isn't even a fraction of that size, unless you count my gigantic rar archives, which the logs say were never hit), but I'm not sure if this is incriminating or not.
The two Yahoo IP's that I've found so far that are "Confirmed Proxys" are:
74.6.22.163 and 74.6.8.102
The others appear clean as far as not having that proxy message...
Any ideas? Does this sound like the real Yahoo, or do this sound like something fishy?
