I have received an offer from an investor saying he to buy one my Domain at a very high $xxxx, but he wanted me to give him a manual valuation, here is part of his email to me:
"It's a standard practice to show independent valuation
>> to buyers/resellers.
>> Nobody will do business without it. I'm a businessman
>> and have no intention
>> of changing rules which help both parties to avoid
>> additional risks.
>>
>> Of course, investors never take into account auto-generated
>> vlauations. So
>> manual valuation is a "must" too."

What do you think, Bogus or not? and is it really part of sale a Domain?

Thanks
Daniel

It's a scam. If he wants a valuation tell him to go get his own valuation.

Very likely a scam, NEVER pay for an appraisal IMO - If they want the name that bad then they should be prepared to pay for it themself.

Is it the "software is not our main business" man again ?

Sounds odd to me. Stay away.

If it is honest he likes name and wouldn't go through all this and etc. Sounds stupid and he can use his own judgement and value on name. If he wants name badly enough he will pay.

:hi:

Please believe everyone when they tell you its a scam-
a domain apprasal scam.

Think about it- if you were to buy a home from someone,
would you ask them to get an appraisal?

No. You would get your own.

These con men prey on a newbie's hope to sell their first domain name.

I say "newbie" because those are the one's that usually fall for the con job and pay for the valuation.
