Article #1 - SEO Optimization:

Getting your site SEO optimized is an essential thing for site growth. Being SEO optimized means your site will be more likely to be included in Google and Yahoo! search and in specific results, on the first few pages. Imagine your site being in search result page 1 for the search term 'Games' - that search result is incredibely popular - and you won't get that far in search results without doing SEO optimization.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and this article will help get your site more optimizied in search engines - and of course get better Page Ranks. Page Ranks is essentially needed for your site, as domains are worth much more if they are higher in PageRank and in addition means that you can get more profit out of your Website. After all, Google is the God for our site growth.

Below I will demonstrate to help you get the most out of Google's SEO benefits. If it goes well, your domain name may increase in PageRank when there is a PR update.

1.) Getting backlinks

Getting backlinks is required in order for Google to believe your site is of importance. "Backlinks" mean other sites linking directly to your Website. This could be achieved in many ways; submitting your site to directories (free and paid), commenting on blog articles with an achor link to your Website and paying other Websites (that are seen important to Google) link to your Website. If other Websites that have high importance (i.e. PageRank, etc.) link to your Website - pretty much so Google would believe your site is of high importance - and do it's thing (add search results linking to your site). It's pretty much like if a government Website advertised your company's services - people who visited the governments Website would believe your company is of high importance and would be interested to find out more. Another way would be registering on community forums and adding a link directly to your Website in your user signature - again Google in the same way would find your site important so it would obviously add backlinks on its search results.

2.) Adding META tags

Adding meta tags is incredibely important if you want a description and title for the search results that appear in Google, otherwise the Google bots would simply copy part of your content and display it as a description. Either way, it isn't much of a big deal but I do recommend that you add META tags - as it displays a direct description & detail to those searching for a Website alike yours.

To add META tags, use the following HTML code and add it between the <head> and </head> tags.

<meta name="description" content="This is your description" />
<meta name="keywords" content="These, are, the, keywords, that, people, would, search, on, Google, and, Yahoo, etc />
<meta name="author" content="Author Name" />

3.) Quality content

I'm not sure if you know, but adding content (like having a blog, for example) means Google has lots of new content to add to its search engine - which means Google bots would be interested to visit your Website more often. Like a forum - it has new topics frequently... so a good tactic for Google SEO. So updating content regularly is essential if you want Google to not remove you from the listing - if you didn't update your site, Google would believe your site isn't really important - so it would take less attention to your site.

4.) No Frames

Having frames on your Website is a really bad idea. Google hates them because they prevent Google bots from searching the content inside the frame. So I'd suggest you use HTML frames at a minimum. If you use frames too much, Google will penalize your site and remove lots of important listing from its search results.

5.) Penalize

If Google penalizes your site, you will often find some search results with your site on would no longer be there. This is because Google has removed the listing because it doesn't like your site. Google doesn't like sites based on what it is, it's based on how it is made. For example, using frames is a bad idea, not updating your site regularly is a bad idea, etc. So if you get penalized, just keep optimizing and they'll forgive you (basically, they'll add you back).
