A recent analysis of the latest P2P trends wordwide shows that BitTorrent is still the most popular filesharing protocol. BitTorrent traffic is still on the rise and responsible for 50-75% of all P2P traffic and roughly 40% of all Internet traffic.

I actually wonder how much sites like YouTube, MetaCafe, et al contribute because I'd say that more people are aware of those sites than P2P (at least amongst average internet users).

Makes sense... I know when I download a torrent it's usually anywhere from 1-10gb (movies, albums, etc). I'm probably not the average but everyone I know that uses torrents has used them to get dvd's which are sometimes a couple gigs. Whereas the normal internet user probably won't come close to that just surfing the web, checking email, or even downloading some mp3's off of Limewire.
