Bird Flu Affair?!

I have wrote an announcement Bird Flu Info regarding the possible bird flu affair that a visitor has reported to my email. It has to do with the fact that US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, is a former CEO of Gilead Sciences, the company that licences anti bird flu drug Tamiflu to Roche. That would be an interesting take on things if not for several issues.

Number one, the big story on the bird flu first arose in the far east. If your reader there is somehow suggesting that Rumsfield/America has Chinese connections somewhere along the way then that's really making for one hack of a conspiracy theory.

Number two, the bird flu pandemic idea has floated all around the world. IMHO it has been sensationalized (as always) by the media but it's another story that will get people to watch.

Number three, we like to focus on this whole pandemic idea. I remember a very similar thing happened back when ebola showed up in Africa. If was going to be the next black death and now so is the bird flu even though it hasn't evolved yet.

Also, it seems that some of the information is a bit misleading. The actual string of avian influenza that they are concerned about did not arise until 1997 (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_flu).

Also, the WHO organization was putting out the announcements and pandemic warnings long before anyone else was.

Thanks for comments CrazyTech. I am already doing some research since I have been receiving emails regarding this issue.

Also, a quote from Wikipedia on H1N1 to confirm that it isn't something new:

Terrorism again? The excuse for budget raising and the use of army worldwide? I don't even wanna mention what "preventive attack" against terrorism caused. Look at Iraq and Afghanistan now.

There are differences among strings of the flu - that's the same reason we see different flu breakouts each year. A variant can sometimes mean big differences and as wikipedia said this string that everyone is so concerned about first occured in 1997.
