Bing Overtake Google in 2012?

Google might still be the leading search engine in the U.S. by a large margin, but over the last six months, searches powered by Microsoft Bing are increasing at an impressive rate. So impressive, in fact, that if the trend line continues, there will be a real contest between Bing and Google next year — and Bing may just come out on top.

According to Experian, Google currently has a 64.42% share in US searches, while Bing-powered searches (including Bing.com and Yahoo.com) account for 30%. Bing.com’s own market share is at 14.32.

Bing-powered searches are growing at a rate of 5% per month, while Google’s share is declining by about 3% monthly, according to Experian. This means that in about 10 months, Google’s and Bing’s Market share will cross paths, with Bing overtaking Google

Its not possible, before a one month ago Bing will show the exact result Xerox copy of Google result.. so Google little changed the algorithm. so they are done instantly. they didn't take any time. they have preplanned to access.

My understanding is that Microsoft owns Google in voice searching capability.

Google is due another market manipulation enquiry into search based ads. We will see then what's up

Bing will always have an advantage to meet or beat Google as long as Bing is the default SE in Internet Exploder. the average user has no idea how to change the default search engine in IE and is afraid to install other browsers or simply do not know there are other browsers.

I think Google will continue to dominate search market due to the growth ladder it has been on so far. Even though Bing has captured more market share lately, which I believe is mostly due to the merger of Bing and Yahoo, still the number of people using Google will stay more. Its more like an example of Windows and Mac...
