.tv Bid.tv

Just read an article about a new auction website www.bid.tv where you can interactively bid through phone and tv. The site is set up by Chello Media and Tel Sell who have spend (according to this article) a few million euro's in this project.

It is really interesting that they completely choose for the .tv extension, even for their sub websites www.speedauction.tv and www.price-drop.tv

For any Dutch NP members, here is the article:

Another good example that .tv is heading in the right direction :)

They are a TV station which is why that have .tv

They have live interactive auctions on SKY TV and Freeview in the UK.

I suspect they do spend alot on their site as they spend alot on their TV platform costs and they are always advertising the website so it gets quite a bit of exposure :) All in all probably good for the .tv extension but its used for all the sites listed as they all have their own TV station behind it broadcasting between 7am and 1pm GMT. :)

Anything advertised on tv in the UK now is more likely to have a .tv ending than not. Quite a shift that's gathering pace.

Same thing in Holland.
I can remember one year ago when a major website using the .tv extension went online it was news here at this forum, now a major interactive website like bid.tv going online is no news anymore, no one cares

We can only wait for the first major $xxx, xxx sale, will not take long.
