So...any opinions? I think it's a pretty good brandable domain. Developed sites in the .net and .co.uk tld's

I feel like I've heard the term "Best Buy" before, IMHO. :guilty:

The good thing is that Best Buy can't really feasibly go after you because you can make the argument that the domain is about best ways to buy property :hehe: It's not like circuitcityproperty or ebayproperty. I might say something like $xx. Network Solutions gave me a figure: $330.00 - $580.00 USD. Hm. I'd say something lower.

BEST BUY REAL ESTATE is TM but BestBuyProperty looks ok. Just dont use a big blue and yellow price tag on your site lol

A bit long but makes sense, since .co.uk has a developed website on it (.net is just a single page site) this one is worth mid $xx - high $xx for resellers imho.

I noticed something here on Namepro's. Folks take their opinions to serious and low balls everyone. They aren't even close so don't take what they say to heart. Run it up on sedo and see what happens. For fun I had them appraise a domain name that had already been computer and manually appraised and certified. I aksed Namepro's to appraise it. They said low $xx. The actual certified appraisal came in at 9k and change. I don't even know what $xx stands for. Namepro's appraisers don't have the qualifications to appraise a grape. I like your domain name. Run it up on sedo and see what happens. Good Luck

Thanks everyone for your opinions! Much appreciated. Not very many appraisals though :)

This domain doesn't have TM issues. USPTO has 68 trademarks with the search term "best buy". "best buy property" is not a TM. The world is full of stores and sellers who use "best buy" in their business brand, and the one company that Jeff was probably refering to, does have this in their trademark:

NO CLAIM IS MADE TO THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO USE "BEST BUY" APART FROM THE MARK AS SHOWN

Anyone else care to take a stab at domain value?

Thanks again

I like it. Taking a look at various realtor's long names, I think this is very brandable to an end user. The fact of the "bestbuy" in front gives it a familiar ring to the ear. It is something the purchaser would like to know when they are buying the name. :hehe: As was directly shown in the post above.
Nice keyword name and easily memorable.
Bestbuy-14,200,000 Property-1,210,000,000. google.
Sellpropertynow.com-$1,650
Propertymarkets.com-$1,000
Ineedproperty.com-$200
onlyproperty.com-$1,250
Foreclosureproperty.com-$6,300
Conceptproperty.com-$2,000
Topdogproperty.com-$15
propertymarkets.com-$1,000

I would guess, you can ask from an end user low xxxx nearing mid xxxx. It may be more clear if you could find more closely related sales.

I think most appraisers here base there price on selling prices of other domains and there experience, there are some very experienced domainers here.

Also what makes a certified appraisal any better, all they care about is the fact you paid for it.

I don't need to appraise grapes, I just pop down to my local supermarket and they do it for me.

One thing you need to bear in mind is there are 2 values - reseller and end user. End user sales can defy logic and be $x,xxx+ for even the worst domain names, but this does not mean this end user will like the domain in question.

Namepro appraisers spend a great deal of their time looking at domain auctions/results that are reseller driven. I cant tell you how many names i see domain names sell for "xx" that are better than most of the compareable names that people put up here to be appraised. This is the source of the "low ball" feeling some people have. Pay appraisals are design to try to make the customer happy while keeping some sense of respect. Alot of domain resellers will only sell for xxxx no matter what the name is, which further supports the look of low balling.

Great appraisal. Comparing to past known sales is the way. I think the above sales are very closely related and I'd expect something like those prices, maybe more as this one is even more brandable IMO.

thanks all

Of course you have to take into account that the housing/real estate market isnt what it was and could be hard going for the next few years. This is sure to have an effect on demand for these domains. Although might be one to hold onto.
