Best Groupware Script?

As some of you know, I am starting a decent sized project, and wondering what the best groupware system was to connect people.

just want to get opinion from the community

What kind of groupware functionality do you need (document sharing, chat, discussion, shared calendars? What about budget ? How many people participating... ??

Lots of questions before being able to provide any sort of pertinent recommendation
