I am curious though, where do you look up what a number or consonant name means in Chinese?

I've never made a big splash in domaining myself. I think I like to develop them more. But that means I have a huge number of websites and minisites. I use them to promo each other, a bit.

• Hand-register exact match domains, or semi-exact match domains on new gTLDs like .xyz, .top, .club, .ooo, .etc if you find a promo. Don't waste $40 on reg price if you are not sure you'll find any potential buyer in a year or so.

• Do not buy crap, meaningless words domains

i think .xyz, top , ooo, etc are crap extensions

so, to me, some of that advice is contradictory
and i wouldn't recommend them to newbies as investments.

most of the time, it is noise,
but on occasion, they'll write some pertinent information, that's worthy of reading and commenting on.

Very bad advice. F&F are not the people to judge value of your domain name. They are a very small sample size and likely biased. The potential end users are the ones who you should be checking with.
