GoDaddy are certainly the registrar of choice for most domainers, and we all want the cheapest prices possible.
Coupon codes are great for regs, but harder to achieve for renewals and very hard to achieve for renewals that are not .coms.
If you have hundreds of domains, then the Discount Domain Club is a good option, especially if you can reduce the fee via a coupon code.
Another, rarely used option (for domainers anyway) is reselling GoDaddy's product via their Wild West Domains. Costs $180/yr.

There are two advantages to taking this approach:
1) Sell yourself domains at cost price
2) Sell domains to others for commission

The lowest you can sell to customers is 50c or so above the buy rate. That is still substantially cheaper than GoDaddy.com.
The disadvantages:
1) Hard to find customers - you are unlikely to get many via organic search, and paid advertising will cost too much. But if you have a mailing list, forum signature or website with enough eyeballs it could cover your annual fee or more.
2) Domainers might be put off by a registrar they have never heard of - you need your own domain name. In my experience end users don't have a problem, they just transfer to their preferred registrar
3) You can't push to GoDaddy or vice versa.
4) You have to set it up. Not too hard, but it is best if you can provide a logo.
My reseller site is in my sig, as an example. I have enough customers to cover the annual fee, but I originally did it to save renewal costs (before I had heard of DDC) and have about 500 of my own domains there.
