Beach Volleyball

Anyone else then me who likes it? I started watching it last summer and got pretty obsessed with it. They play short matches, but it's really fun in some way I don't know how to describe. Alot of people find it boring, but I really like it and have been watching this years tourumant so far. Shame that the 47th place ranked Germans got beaten as I hoped they would take it all and impress, but we didn't get to see that

I really hope brasilll doesn't win today even though I have a feeling that do..

Not watching but I played competitive beach volleyball in Florida for many years when I was younger. Loved the sport. Spent many many days on Siesta Key beach (near Sarasota) playing pick up games as well. My favorite memory from those days is when some professional baseball players showed up at the beach (the Kansas City Royals had a minor league team in Sarasota) and came over to the volleyball court and challenged my partner and I to a game. Since they were "professional" athletes they assumed they would kick our ass since we were just a couple of beach bums who couldn't possibly have the athletic skills to compete with them.

On the very first serve of the game the ball went to my partner who set the ball to me to spike. All of the planets lined up perfectly at that moment and I blasted the most powerful hit I ever made in all of the years I played the game. The ball came back across the net so fast the basbeall player on the receiving end didn't even have a chance to put his hands up and it him flat in the face, bloodying his nose. They were scared to death the rest of the match and covered their face every time one of us went up for a spike - and we killed them. Never saw them on the beach again either.
