Why are you getting a prize for being the second highest bidder?

The person bidding the closest to the closing price wins, the first person who picks an amount gets that amount, so it’s your responsibility if you bid $10,000 and someone else already bid $10,000.

It was just a contest, $20 prize to one whose guess is closest to the auction end price. He wasn't 2nd highest bidder in the auction.

Luckily the high bidder understands crypto, NFTs and therefore the unquestionable draw of .XYZ domains so will undoubtably be immediately redirecting the full amount, plus more, to do the sensible thing and buy a single mediocre .XYZ name instead. They're selling so well and anyone that questions such a purchase or sale is simply crazy after all.

Back to the real world... It's a real shame when you don't get a name that you think you've won on expired auctions, I've had my fair share. That's a serious amount of cash and a great domain to miss out on.
