Baseball Forum... Can I have MLB in the domain?

Hi,

I'm a bit new to the domain game
(just own the one in my sig)

But i'm a huge baseball fan and would love
to start a forum for MLB fans.

I've been offered a few good domain names with
MLB in the title.

I tried to call MLB corporate to see if i need to get permission but
got no call back...

SO...

1. Can I have MLB in the domain
and
2. Do you have to get permission to use the team logos on a site?

Again, this would be a little side project, no big deal
(so if I can't do it, i'm not gonna flip out).

Just curious, as I'd like to do this some day.

I recently saw a great mlb name to register but didn't becuase mlb is trademarked. I was about to register it thinking mlb is just a common name, but it is not. It has a TM, actually a number of them, here is just a couple:

It depends... If you're planning to have any kind of ads on the site, then no, its not a good idea. If you're doing it just to have a fan site that brings in absolutely no money for you, then you should be completely fine.
