Banner Design Contest

WebDesignTalk.Net needs a banner!.

The banner should be 468x60 in .jpeg or .gif format and 20k or smaller.

The banner can be animated or static.

The banner should include the words: Web Design Talk

The contest will end on Saturday the 28th of June at midnight EST.

There's no requirements except for what was mentioned above.

The one we like best will be the winner!

So have fun and be creative.

We'll give the winner their choice of $30.00 sent via paypal, or one three year domain registration of any .com, .net, or .org domain name, or 3, 1 year registrations of any .com, .net, or .org domain names and 1 free month of advertising here!

The winner will need to supply a 468x60 banner in .jpeg or .gif format and no larger than 20k if they wish to take advantage of the free advertising offer.

It's no big deal really, I know others probably thought their was better banners as well. I don't have a problem with anyone thinking their was better banners or thinking another should have won, but just thought that IdleHosting could have expressed it a little differently, and that's why I threw up some questions for him :D

Anyways, here's the banners, if you want to look at all of them at once and say which ones you like best and/or just comment on them:

I didnt even realize it till I was looking thru all the entries, but I put .com instead of .net on my banner (#34)!!! OOOOOOPPPSS LOL :D

I understand there are so many quality banners and also everybody has different opinions and tastes on those. I myself liked many of the posted banners than mine. I don't have much graphic skills, but I tried just for fun.

I am really glad deadserious selected my banner. Thanks again everyone for all of your wishes!!!

But this contest wasn't about graphical ability or even who made the best looking banner or which banner looked best or which banner was the best. It all came down to which one I thought was best for a banner for web design talk.

I also asked for the opinions of others and they seemed to like geetha's banner also, some of the things I asked were which ones would stand out to you and which ones would you click on, and which ones do you like best.

I just about picked IdleHosting's banner with the scrolling php code because I thought it would have been a good banner. :D

This is rediculous.

The point of a Competition is to accomplish what is asked of you and the winner will be choosen as specified. "WebDesignTalk.Net needs a banner!." and "The one we like best will be the winner!"
Now let me explain this. He wants us to make banners, and he'll pick the winner based on his own definition of liking. Fare enough? Yes. He's offering the prize, he put up the thread about this forum.

Someones definition of liking can consist of many criteria. Will it serve the purpose, will it attract people, will it be different then the dick harry and sally of its type (in this case banner design), and is it good? One banner could have a big lead in one catagory but lack in other places. And naturally the one who is well rounded and has the best, for lack of better term, average score.

Yanno, I have never in my life seen anything so CHILDISH as this, to sit and complain and get bent all out of shape because a banner won that you ( the competitors) felt wasn't of quality. The whole point was to have fun, and not be rude and get upset if you didn't win, because in life we don't always "win". I agree with dark this whole complaining because this one won, it's completely and utterly RIDICULOUS!
