You can now access all your accounts through any supported mobile phone or smart phone. Here's how:

go to www.bofa.mobi

I know that we all know this but if you click on mobile banking if you are a b of a customer they promote specifically bofa.mobi

Excellent news, thank you Sean!

P.S.: In case anyone is new to the bofa.mobi thing and they don't have a BofA account, feel free to click here to see it promoted in bold from within the .com version (mid-right):

Thanks yoyosean.

The mobile banking demo was a great idea. They've done a great job promoting it.

Look.., http://www.bankofamerica.com/onlinebanking/mobilebanking/flash/index.cfm

"Mobile Banking Security

Your personal information is protected by advanced encryption technology to prevent unauthorized access We are committed to protecting the privacy of your financial information. See the Privacy Policy for Consumers .

Our $0 Liability Online Banking Guarantee ensures you're not responsible for any unauthorized transactions
We use SiteKeyยฎ to verify your identity as we do for Online Banking, providing an extra layer of security for your peace of mind

We will never transmit account number information"

I think assurance is a key factor in it. I am interested to see how safety features can be adopted to ppl like us. To do mobile commerce on our sites.

I always see bofa.mobi posters all over the place in Boston.

This, together with trix's video link just took care of my afternoon slump - thank you guys!

P.S. In case anyone missed it earlier, they keep hammering various security points in the video, such as: "Account information is never stored on your phoneโ€ฆever!"

And somewhere near there they urge people to go to bofa.mobi.

Thank you BofA!

*On the front page of the demo, click on <see how to get started now> button in grey color and the kindly spokes person from BofA will show and tell mobi.

many of us have been anticipating what the first promotions to get mobi significantly more mainstream would be. BOFA was at the top of many people's lists due to their poster/atm ads and sheer marketing power, especially as the #1 sponsor at major sporting events. They built bofa.mobi, they promoted it in their branches, did that video, and now going much further with tm'd catchphrases and official spokespeople. And now it has press in CNN money that promotes their own mobi. I think this is it. The light is here, I predicted 1/08 and I think it could be a reality.

personally, i'm thrilled that my mobile portfolio names had a good day as well! :$:

Congrats PV, and I must say again: spot on, IMHO!

Hard not to agree, this is about as much as a mere corporate can do.

And in terms of credibility it doesn't get that much better than Bank of America.

Now it's just a matter of time for the sleepier corporates to follow the most alert ones.

Which would hopefully allow more of us to do more constructive things for the plucky little trustmark than argue with naysayers all the time.

dotMobi can't be stopped now.

It will be for the educated, the young, the techy, the web savvy.
Thats enough for me .
There are some that may never know fact of life.

I was in Barclays today paying for a premium mobi by wire transfer :sold: and the girl behing counter asked what i was paying for.
I said a 'domain name'.
She said 'huh?'

I explained briefly, she said 'oh! a web name?'
I said , 'yeah'. I guess thats fair enough though.
I explained barclays have a mobi, but aren't using it, or so i thought..........

http://barclays.mobi/

some of site hops around to .co.uk on links but plenty of mobi pages

http://barclays.mobi/products_services.html

enjoy.

As far as I'm concerned this is an experiment to see if some naysayers would migrate from threads with negative/controversial subject headings onto one with a positive underlying message - if we offer them enough opportunities for snide remarks.

Just saw a commercial on CBS during "Survivor" advertising Bank of America mobile.

I thought for sure they would mention BofA.mobi, but they only mentioned BankOfAmerica.com/anywhere.

Darn so close. At least anybody who goes to the site advertised will get exposure to .mobi.

but that may be the point, they may feel it's still too early to market the .mobi address directly to the general public, but on their pc site they can really educate them on it.

still, very encouraging!

That strikes me as a very sensible strategy: not mixing up different marketing messages.

When people are watching TV at home the key word in the message appears to be "Anywhere", as in:

"Bank the way you live. Mobile. Online. Anytime. Anywhere"

When people are out and about, they see the posters that emphasize a different key word :"Mobile", as in:

bofa.mobi

Just speculating here obviously, since I don't work for BofA and hence the actual reasoning may be very different.

But if you were them, would you not try and tailor the marketing message - not just to the audience, but to the circumstances as well?

Would you really expect people to turn on their cellphones during the Survivor ad break just to check out bofa.mobi (not having enough time to figure out how it works, let alone complete any meaningful banking operation)?

Some would, but would it not be much more cost-effective to use TV just for branding - and posters for relevant access method awareness instead?

:hi: it's me ~again~

I think you're bringing up a very good point here MC about BofA not mixing up different marketing messages. As TV watching is a passive experience and that commercial in between "Survivor" is fleeting moment to educate the public about BofA.mobi. Viewers can think 'Say What? BofA dot Mo who?' but no recourse to view it again once the commercial is over. But, if they can have people look at the video demo on mobile banking on their PC site, viewer can go back and re-click on the button to watch the segment where they introduce bofa.mobi. The viewer has control in their time & pace, by becoming an active user, to soak in this new BofA extension along with mobile banking instructions. Good marketing strategy. IMHO.

They are not watering the flowerbed with a sprinkler but, irrigating it with water channels.

Yes, great marketing strategy. But who here, for our own selfish reasons, would not want to see a .mobi advertised during a top ten most watched show? We are getting closer.
