The chance of being the only one to backorder any LLL.com is between 0 & 0 :hehe:
The chances of being the only one to backorder any 3-character.com (all letter or not), at any of the major backorder services approaches 0%

if its the matter .....then sometimes without getting an invite to the auction...some of my names that i've backordered for, just vanished without a trace
#1) Just becuase it is in backorder lists or listed on drop services, doesn't mean some smart owner didn't renew at the last second, days after the backorder service saw it about to drop and added it to their list, being willing to pay sometimes $200 or more in pending-delete-status renewal fees.
#2) As gazzip mentioned, the registrar or registry never dropped it, holding it for themselves to resell or auction. NetworkSolutions (partner of SnapNames, and sadly the .com & .net registry) is notoriously known as crooked for doing this very thing.
Until the whois updates universally, the backorder service has no way of knowing either of these happened.
IF you are saying it just disappears from your back-order list itself, prior to drop, send a nifty little complaint to the back-order service asking why
