I just put an order with Snapnames to get a website called credits en ligne . fr which means onlineloans . fr (french)

I thought it would be a good name to have as I live in france too and I wanted to develop it. However I placed my order 69 $ with Snapnames and it just says aquiring order.

However when I checked the whois again I see that it had been registered by somebody new in America.

Was this because they back ordered it? How did they beat me to it, why does SnapNames still say aquiring name if it has clearly been taken somehow by somebody else???

Is it better to back order than to snap or wait for a drop? What is the best way to get a name that you have your heart set on?

EDIT : Update : email just in saying the domain was successfully won by myself lol wtf. I got good plans to make this a good loan comparison site in France, so am very happy to have won. Maybe if I had waited I could of got it without paying snapnames

To answer your question, backordering at SnapNames, NameJet, and Pool (all three, but SnapNames is the main one) will get you the domain most of the time, provided Andrew Reberry doesn't want it.

Ok, a quick google search and it shows that Andrew Reberry registers allot of domains. He must have very very deep pockets!

He has deep pockets and a better dropcatching system. He sells his names at HugeDomains.com (his website). He has a huge list of domains. You'd think the renewals would cripple him, but if it's a successful model, well then I have nothing to say except, Go Andrew!
