Augmented Reality (AR) domains

Last night I ignored the urge to register SpaceShipThree.com , and today the .com .net .org and .whatnot is all taken.

Today I decided to redeem myself and find another good dn investment. After a bit of investigation I discovered the huge potential of Augmented Reality: Google Trends: augmented reality . The estimated AR market size in 2014 is $732,000,000 , especially in AR marketing.

I think adverts and billboards shown as augmented reality on mobiles will become simply huge, and so I decided to get a piece of the pie, all new .com registrations:

I'm not following you guys down the garden path on this one. My eggs are in VR and HOLO. I have like 5 AR domains and I'm happy with that. If AR actually explodes, well good luck to those who got in early.

My personal opinion is I don't think AR has the same ring to it as VR or HOLO, but who knows what will happen.

I put my eggs in as many baskets as I can. I got into this because I was interested in Virtual Reality, then it spiraled out of controll and now I have domains in:

Hybrid Reality
Cinematic Reality
Metaverse



Hopefully one of these turns out to be the right horse.

Apparently Apple has bought one of the leading AR companies, Metaio. Gonna get interesting..

So it is now: Facebook & VR, Google & VR + AR, Apple AR + VR? and Microsoft & AR. All the big tech companies are starting to be in for the party. Maybe next Alibaba or Amazon will do something in this space..
