Audio output

is it possible to output sound from your pc to your television/VCR/DVD player? what cable do you need.. I am also working on outputting video from my graphics card because it has a tv output but I don't know which cable I need

For the video to TV, you will need a s-video cable, but your TV may not have a S-Video jack in the back, but radio shack has all of this stuff. Id goto radioshack or a store like and ask the questions, they will help you out...

Funny you mention this, because I was going through a box of cables I have in my dorm room, and I found this cable:

So now I have my computer hooked up to my tv which in turn is hooked up to my speaker system in my room...

Anyway, it IS possible to output from your video card to your tv as long as you have a 2nd output on your video card. Tell us what does the output hole look like, is it round with just one whole in the middle? or is it round and has like about 6 little holes in it?...

THere are a few different outputs that it could be so a little more info would help .

THEN, if you could check on the back of your TV and let us know what input holes you have (look at your manual for S-VIDEO), what does it's input hole look like? lol well i think i can help you out if you let us know that info

has 6 holes in it lol... can you give an example of what S-video looks like?

lol got it.. compostite to this little yellow thing.. but its like 0.2 metres and my tv is like 5M away from my PC lol
