I have just completed a single domain transfer out of the Atom.com registrar (this was not a sale). A 2FA code in the transfer tab of the domain details page was required to unlock the domain, and the transfer code was available immediately after, all of that in the dashboard, without emails. The email to approve the expedited transfer arrived a minute after the transfer was initiated at the receiving registrar, with the transfer completing shortly after clicking the approval link.
The way they let your domains go is an important quality of a registrar, and my experience with Atom was quite positive.
