Don't spend money on new gTlds or ccTld . Buy one LLLL .com and try to sell it . Till then learn .

ProFund.Mortgage
AtlReal.Estate

no value imo

AtlReal.Estate - should that stand for Atlanta Real Estate? :)

xb1vr.com
vrxb1.com

Again, I feel no value in this - I can not imagine what end user would build big business on these domains

BLVQ.COM - nice LLLL .com chip, and liquid - good catch :)

^^^^ What he said. Just be careful not to over pay. Liquid domains can be complex.

BLVQ search shows only around 20K results, which shows it is not popular acronym.

Also it is hard to create an acronym with Q in the end, unless it is pronounceable.

So name like that will have current reseller price in $200-250 range. And don't expect any direct inbound inquiries on those either.

BLV could stand for Bolivia, maybe. Or Boulevard (Blvd). LV could be Latvia or Las Vegas.

@lolwarrior @Silentptnr

So what is most you would pay for BLVQ.COM?
I would not pay anything for that :)

Personally I am building my portfolio for long term hold. I do not have time for flipping, which means to buy a name for 250 and then sell it for 400, lets say. This is not for me, but it can of course be something for others.

So the question is, whether you would like to build portfolio with long term value, or whether you would like to make quick flips, and profit from tiny everyday profits.

If quick flips, then one can learn how to trade LLLL.com chips. If long term value portfolio, then one need to buy totally different names. I do this in new gTLDs, but one can also do it still in .com, I guess.

But to mix everything together (names in new gTLDs with LLLL.com chips) - I think it is not very sustainable long term.
:)

^^^^ Exactly what he said. I will only add that you can also look at previous sales of similar domains. These previous sales also indicate support for @Recons post.

msvq.com 225 USD 2017-02-09 NameJet
svvq.com 245 USD 2016-12-08 GoDaddy
vdvq.com 229 USD 2016-12-07 NameJet
spvq.com 238 USD 2016-11-28 4.CN

Exactly. It's what I mentioned before about figuring out what kind of investor you are.

I saw an earlier post you made which listed about 20 domains you have...
I am slightly gun shy bc Ive been told me domains are not so great. Im trimming the list as well:) .

Anyway, just work on what kind of domain investor, collector, flipper you are. Otherwise, trust me, renewals will add up and you'll realize that you registered names that aren't for the long run, short run or any run. You will sort of wish you could do it all over again.

Nothing wrong with the 4L. If you want some domains that are liquid, and learn the market, have at it!

Thank you all for the feedback. I am a school teacher by trade! I am really looking forward to some time this summer to stop and reevaluate my short and longer term domaining goals. I think buying this domain has shown me that though I am learning, I really don't know the business yet.

I do think I will surprise a few with the sales I will make. Not in an arrogant sense. Think of the scene when Lil Dicky is talking to Snoop Dog in the video and Lil Dicky is saying he wants to hit a different niche. Anyways, I do realize you have the data and analytics to support your point of view. I really do appreciate thit feedback. It has been great.

Any suggestions on what to read to be the most effective with outbound calls, pricing but it nows, and identifying potential end users?

I think one can save lot of time and does not need to be effective with oubound calls, pricing BINs and all other complex stuff providing one really registers only good names. If you have good names in your portfolio, all the rest will follow. But if you have bad names in your portfolio, you can do whatever you want, but nothing will really help. So my main advice for buying good names would be (and this is all I can say to this topic, as it represents 99% of success imo)

When registering or buying domainname, always ask yourself 1 basic question:
Can I imagine that big company will build big business on this domain, realistically???
If yes, get it
If no, forget it.
:)

Here are three tips that will save you money/time:

- Imagine that your the entrepreneur. Would you choose the name for your business that you are going to invest money, time, sweat? Would the name communicate well what you are offering?

- Imagine people calling your business and hearing over the phone "Thank you for calling GotJehovah". Not so cool? Don't register it.

- Don't spend money on names that are ok for a personal blog or very narrow topic. Those that need the names will probably just tweak their first choice a bit (add i, e, my, -center, -online, find synonyms etc, and then even try worse extensions).

You make a great point about a business answering with thanks for calling got jehovah. I sold 112358132134.com, the Fibonacci sequence. Granted it was not a lot of money, $35, it did double me up! And if I had known not to reg for two years, I would have pocketed more money. I think someone else alluded to the fact that it was kind of a one in a million luck up on my part. Some of my domains that really suck to you all just like the Fibonacci sequence had some thought to them. Granted i realize now that just because someone has a Twitter name doesn't mean they want the website. Like thefakenfl.com

Anyways I do appreciate the feedback. I really believe this community wants to help one another!

Thank you all so much. It means a lot to me.
