I had this .at domain I traded for with a NP member, registered at EuroDNS. I let it expire on 29/04/2007. However, the domain was still active today (still resolved to a parking page until I took it down a few minutes ago). It still shows as "taken" in the WHOIS record.
Note: .at is the CCTLD of Austria.
This morning, I received a email from Nic.at, as follows.
The domain has disappeared from my EuroDNS account already. I'm confused, can other owners of .at domains tell me more about the drop process? Do I need to explicitly tell them to drop my domain?

Dear Madam or Sir!
nic.at is the official registration and administration office for .at-domains.
Your Internet service provider is no longer invoice recipient for your domain XXXXXXXXXXXX.at.
Unless you tell us a new invoice recipient the billing will be transfered to you as domain holder.
In case the provider is not hosting the nameserver any longer, we will contact you.
Please note that this is NOT the cancellation of your domain.
If you haven't cancelled your domain yet, your contract with us will remain active.
