domain Asia.travel (Worth anything)

This is the only .travel name I own and I am not big on the extension. However, do you think that Asia.travel is worth the $90 registration.

Usually where the market with masses of people usage there will be profits and appeal. I think .travel is like one of those unique and closed out to the world extension like dot pro and dot md. But its definitely a great keyword asia.travel.

I am not a fan of .travel at all, however if any .travel has value it is a domain like this one. I am not sure of value, but Asia.Travel fits the extension perfectly.

Perfect fit for the extension. This one has exceptional possibilities and one of the best choices available for that sector. Just a matter of finding the right buyer. Not a fan of the extension, but I think this one is a winner. Aim high with it.

I figured since Europe.travel sold for $5,000 at DomainFest which I attended than Asia.travel has good resale potential and for a $90 investment, I figured why not. This will be my only .travel name, because I am not really sold on the extension except for a strong GEO keywords that make sence like Asia.travel

how is this possible? I thought you needed to be some sort of registered authority (tour operator, cvb, travel agency) on a specific location in order to get a .travel domain.

That TLD is going to cause a lot of problems. I'd assume the .travel TLD is going to be like any other TLD? The two problems I see are:

1. Email addresses associated to domains with this TLD are going to have a hard time validating because most scripts which I have seen consider up to 4 letters as a valid extension where as .travel has 6.
2. It might even cause invalid URL related problems because again many scripts assume the last extension of a valid domain would be 4 letters long.

I suppose I should also point out that Asia.travel is still available on Moniker.

If there was a single word that can best correlate with the .travel extension you have it. I’m not a big fan on new extensions, but you have a word that fits perfectly to what the extension was made for. Current economy value – mid to high x,xxx. If that was my domain I would sit on it till the economy picks back up and vacation agencies are back booking trips, then I would expect to get low to mid xx,xxx .

Good name and available for registration. Why did you decide to drop it?

Asia.Travel is reserved by the registry, so noone can register it.
It'll show as available through namesbeyond.com and moniker, but they won't let you reg.

I suppose they must plan to sell/auction these reserved names at a later date :D
