.asia domain name landrush finished and we are excited about whether we will have to go to the auction or win the domain name without any competition.

I have applied nearly 600 domains and I can see now a few of my domains are aution at the dot asia website.

If 10 % of my application successful, I will be happy and will enjoy owning the .asia domains.

This is only landrush. It will open again on 26th this month to everyone to register at first come first served basis.

I am wondering when .asia company will let us know whether we win the domain for not??????

It would be only a matter of few days to find out we are successful or not. Because the auction will start on 17. They publish some of the list of the domains to be auction on dotasia.org.

Hong Kong, 13 March 2008 โ€“ DotAsia Organisation announced today that a total of 473,633 domain registration
applications were received within the 3-week Landrush period. Including Sunrise and .Asia Pioneer Domains, the
number of applications totals to over half a million: 505,838. .Asia registry will Go Live on March 26, domain names
will be available on a First-Come-First-Served basis.
......
......
......
45,697 domains received more than one application in Landrush and will go to auction. Out of which, โ€œbuy.asiaโ€
was the most sought after, with over 400 applicants fighting for the name. Others in the top 5 include: hot.asia,
gold.asia, fun.asia, girl.asia. 1,051 domain names received more than one application during Sunrise. Among
which, โ€œsex.asiaโ€ received the most Sunrise applications, with 14 prior-right claims filed. A live ticker and the latest
auction results can be found on www.registry.asia.

So many of us could be lucky! Pray to be one!

F..K!!!
Eurodomains emailed me before the end of the landrush that the 3 letter domains I applied for (30+) are restricted for registration, now I got an email today after landrush stating that those domains have already been taken???
What the f..k!!!

I seem to get only 19 domains out of over 500 applications. Success rate is only about 3 %.

It will be a long auction process for me.

Guys,

im a bit sceptical about that list...i mean, some stuff i registered is absolutely ridiculous (in good way) and did not appear on that list. I mean, some that would fetch millions in .com space. SURELY, someone else would have applied for the same??? For example, shopping.asia - i registered that during landrush and its not on that list - so presumably its mine, right??? That just seems way too good to be true??? Am i missing something?

No. You have to check at

http://whois.asia/

There you will see shopping.asia is govermental reserved name.

Ah, thanks, mate, that makes more sense. So if the whois shows no data then it should be mine right? I presume the whois data for landrush is not yet updated?

I think so. If it is not reserved name, then most likely yours.

Auctions will start on 17 and therefore I think we should find out about what domains we have before 17.

well, that is a bit ridiculous...just checked the whois data and all geos are 'government reserved' - nearly all generics are 'community reserved' and the other ones i 'registered' not in the above category are already 'allocated' to companies despite being 'available' to register during the landrush period. Seems like they've effectively barred domainers from any prime real estate whatsoever.

I think so. They grab very good domains saying reserved. Why shopping.asia should be reserved for government ? Could not understand!
