There are not lot of them recently.
So i even reg names with 5 Dollar Codes ;)
But i never pay 8 Dollar anymore. Only if i find a real Gem and can't wait until next code :)

BTW, there is one possible answer missing in the pole, and that answer would probably be voted 99%, IF everyone (specially those new in this biz) knew about the truth. That answer would be:

Yes .... I register crap daily!

out of the quite decent number of sales i had in several years, only 2 were hand-regs. speculation with handregs is not what i'm good at, so i don't speculate with them =)

I still hand register, but mostly brandable domains for sites I'm working on. Most of my domains come from the aftermarket and auctions.

I just hand regged a "chancy" domain today, using the $2.95 GoDaddy coupon. If it doesn't do well, I can allow it to expire without worrying about allowing an expensive domain to delete.

Sometimes I hand reg domains related to my writing, for example, the book title in my siggie. These are not high-ranking, high traffic terms, and I know it, but I try to choose titles that are memorable. It's great being able to hand reg these kinds of titles.

I AM regging fewer domains these days, though. It can get expensive, especially with prices going up.

I hand reg a lot these day. With and without cheap codes.
Have to stop slowly but surely.

Yes price is a factor .........especially at renewal time. I did reg about five domains related to my ebooks but in the end i stuck with vampirehire.com and made a site for all my ebooks in the one place. Plus i think the name is handy enough to keep. After all vampires are real are'nt they? .......LOL

Down to 318 domains in my portfolio, nearly 300 of them hand regs. But I don't know if I can honestly say that I'm "still" hand regging, since my rate of expansion is so close to zero. I mainly hand reg when I do pick them up though.

Yes, I still hand reg ,But not as much as earlier years. I am down to Roughly 70 domains now down from 400 2 years ago. I am only interested in Development Domains, But am still selling when I get the chance . I would like to get a good portfolio of my own development Domain names and keep it at 50 . Put an end to the after market ups and downs.

When it comes to new technologies and trends, hand reg's are the best way to get in ahead of the crowd. It requires a lot of research and news-gathering, but that's the best part, for me. I've sold more hand reg's than drops or aftermarket purchases.

well I've kinda switched to hand registering more phrase domains ones with multiple words that together in a phrase mean something and get alot of search results with low to medium comp. working very well for traffic for me.

The imprint I'm publishing my books under is a hand reg: BanMyBook and BanMyBookPublishing both dot com domains (I also have other variations of these terms).

I figure that banned books sell well, so decided to make the term my own.
