Are Typos ok ?

Hi all, there's a few good typos dropping soon of some well know companies what I would like to know is - is it legal to reg typos, it seems everyone is doing it and getting good click throughs from it.

Just wondering how many of you DO REG TYPOS and have you ever had any problems regarding owning them - if so what happened ?

Basically if it's not a trademark or you don't do the same service as someone with that name than your okay. Also I like to do typos of the words that are just plain english.

Anyone who registers more than a handful should be prepared for C&D letters. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying be prepared for possible legal action against you if you reg typos of large companies.

Thanks, what happens when you get a C&D letter ? Do they get the domain back or is it usual to get sued as well ??

They may sue you for damages, but it's not very likely. Most likely they'll demand you transfer the domain to them, and it's up to you whether you want to hire a lawyer and fight it or just transfer the domain name to them.
