Dear NP firends,

have a nice day.
Googlewebservices.com is my first domain name.
I planned to sell it now.
But I m not sure abt its price range.
many says it may go for >$10000 since Google itself may intented to buy it as soon as they realize the domain name.

Some says its against of google's trademark .
Wat can I do now?
please guide me thru the process...

You can offer to give it to www.Google.com , before they take you to court, take it away from you, sue you, and make you pay lots of money!!!!

Good Luck

You definitely don't want to try and sell it to Google. Trying to sell a TM name to the actual company will probably land you in court, and they could even sue for damages. You should without a doubt give that domain up.

well, probably do this. dont contact them, & wait for them to contact you (if they need the domain). Dont demand anything much. They might offer a small fee some $xxx, without wanting to take u to court. However if they choose to take if from you for free, well you really have no choice!

It was a mistake to register this domain, and I can't imagine anything good coming from it, except for the learning experience you have picked up. I would not contact Google. I would not advertise it for sale. I would try to get the registrar to cancel the registration if possible; some offer this feature and some don't, you need to check. Otherwise I would forget it, let it expire and move on.

By the way, you can set up a signature in your User CP instead of putting your sites at the end of your posts.

TM Issues... won't worth much.

Registering any domain with Google on it only means trouble. Delete it (if that option is available on your registrar) or just let it expire.

Dear Lovelylovely,

If googleadicts.com can be sold for good price even with the TM google in it, then what in googlewebservices.com makes it away of being sold for reasonable price.

I concur with DB and others just let it go or try and remove it. Interestingly though GoogleMail.nl sold for $1,150 Sedo.

Google must of let that one slip

if there are so many problem with such name domains, then why sites like googlestatistics.com or googlerank.com for example are still up since long time?

Hi, I guess Google don't mind people attempting to analyse things Google does
such as calculate pagerank,SE position or provide info on updates and the like.

Your domain 'GoogleWebServices.com' is completely different, you could be in
a whole world of pain if you decide to keep it.

They'll come to namepros, create an account & PM you lol..!

They'll take your email id, address & phone number from your domain's Whois info & from your registrar..

A super-stretch limousine with dark tinted windows will pull up outside. Several large men will get out, all looking the same, dressed in black suits & sunglasses (like the bad guy from TheMatrix). They will surround your home, leaving no escape route. Then, one of them will start shouting "Google owns you" and proceed to.... :o

No. Seriously though, you will likely receive a letter (or email) from them, informing you that the name potentially infringes on their trademark, and asking you to hand it over, or let it expire. Just do what they say and move on with your life. Most of us have received such letters, and it's not a big deal.

Consider it a learning experience. :)

You got enough good advice already. Either drop the name or let it expire.

Please dont be fooled by name sales with TM in it. I do agree that happens. But mostly by experienced domainers, not newbies like us. It is perfectly alright for a newbie to jump onto a nice name with TM in it, but it is not alright not to listen to good advice.

So act now and move onto finding good names without TM.
