Appraisal request - possible scam?

I've got an offer on my domain from someone with @excite email address.

This person is asking on appraisal before making a final offer. He will only accept appraisals from Aftrenic.com. I suggsetde him a cheaper service but he said he could accept appraisals from www.Afternic.com only.

Can he be connected somehow with Afternic.om. May be he is one of Aftrenic's owners

Is this request legit?

If a buyer wants an Appraisal - Let them buy it ~

It may be legit - (Most times it isn't when there is such a request - IMO) , But most folks don't really "Buy" Appraisals.
