Hmm, I guess that's one UDRP panelist to watch out for from that article.

Not worried about it. As bad as it might be for the industry squatting will always be around.

Think this line sums up the naive attitude that the Australian media have towards domaining.

"A leading arbitrator says this kind of cyber squatting โ€” known as "domaining" โ€” is increasing and warns... "

So you think one reporter represents the australian media industry ???????

surely you are joking ? i have the feeling that reporter would have recieved plenty of emails explaining their mistake !!!!!!!

dont judge a book by it's cover .....is a saying that comes to mind

Maybe not. But one unfortunate reality is perception is stronger than truth, at
least that's what one article I read somewhere said.

I've long accepted that as reality, and am doing what I can to prepare for the
worst.

So if the reality is that perception is stronger than truth, than is not that reality nothing more than a product of our own perceptions? Truth is always stronger than perception, because it is absolute, however our ability to perceive that truth is not.

You should consider changing your name to Dave Zen :)

Of course one reporter does not represent the entire media but time and time again they use this sort of language to sensationalise a news story . Another one that comes to mind is the following from earlier this year.

The owner of tennis.com.au was repeatedly called a cybersquatter and then described as 'scalping' when he/she sold it.

Sold a .Com.au ??
Never
.com.au's are Never Owned by the registrant ,only licensed

It was a ""bribe" to give up the right to the name that happened NOT a sale of actual Domain. If Tennis Australia had really pressed the point the auDA could have cancelled / transferred the name without Compensation.

i would have just turned tennis.com.au into a blog site or something to justify owning it , i have heard of .com.au sales with no business attatched , but consulting fees charged ???? i guess people find a way , but one bad apple does not make a bad barrel of apples ........ surely we all know that
