Anything out there?

Hey guys and Gals,

I have always just run forum software but now im looking at a few new projects, the one that has me kinda stumped is Im looking to make a site where I can put up pics and news, etc etc, but also let users submit pictures as well in different catagories, etc etc, is there any opensource stuff that might be able to do this? Or blog software? I'd apprciate any input or ideas that you guys might have. Just a note I have my own domain name and hosting so Im not looking for something I signup for and run it on there stuff.

I'm not really an expert here, but have you tried coppermine? I think coppermine is compatible with most forum and blogging platforms, and its opensource.

Thanks Im gonna download this, can it run stand alone or do you have to have another software installed?

look up cms's(content management systems). You should be able to do all that stuff with joomla.
