Anyone using Google's referrals?

Just got my invite for google's referral system. I've just started looking it over and it looks rather interesting. Sure makes keeping ad campaigns running easier as it is all in one place. Better than CJ etc as you don't have to sign up for each individually, but all creatives by the look of it are all adsense styled ads. But there already seems to be plenty of advertisers to choose from with some really good payouts. I'm impressed so far.

Anyone else using this? Have any tips, pointers, what not to do's etc?

Thanks
Roy

EDIT - if you haven't heard about this yet - it's google's first foray into the world of CPA - watch out CJ!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
I havn't started using any of them yet, but they look great from what I have seen. The payouts seem great right now for most things as well.

I am using several referral buttons on my websites, the most popular among these is Firefox with google toolbar.

You can always recommend your visitors that your website is best viewed in Firefox followed by its button/banner.

This is something completely different.

Oops.. I think I got your question wrongly..

I have never got Adsense referral, although I use it at my webmaster related website. A friend of mine did get couple and he got quite good commission for that. The pay is much more than before ($250 if your referral reach 100$ within 180 days).

I just went through it for one website. What a tremendous time waster as it is set-up now. You have to wade through page after page of advertisers - many of whom are in the wrong categories - just to find a few you want to use. They need to implement a search function. I used it on www.canadaemployment.info in the top 468x60 position. A few advertisers have image ads to use, but most are run of the mill google adsense style.

It would have been nice to just type in the few keywords I wanted to target and be presented a choice of advertisers, but it sadly doesn't work that way. And if it does, they don't make it very apparent!

There seems to be a few large companies already using the service, but many are clickbank types as well... blah no thanks.

Would love to hear from anyone else already using this!

I am using some on my url shortener sites and my new proxy. I think they are useful if regular google ads aren't targeted well enough.

For ex: at my url shortening sites the ads are all web master related because that is what the site's text is about. however the users are mostly myspace users who use the site to pass links to music sites like imeem.com. So the CTR is low. But with the affiliate ads I can setup games or entertainment related ads that will appeal to this myspace crowd. Hopefully that will improve my earnings

I couldn't find any documentation about the new referral program but does it still read the page for actual keywords or does it just bust out with the targetted ads?

I looked at them, but I think I will stay with networks like Azoogle, etc.
