I just had one done yesterday morning to remove a bump, fix crookedness, and clear my sinuses so that I can breathe much better, and smell better. One of my nostrals was almost completely blocked.

Ill tell you, Im miserable right now, both my nostrals are packed with something, and I cant breathe through them at all, and have to rely on my mouth 100%. Through breathing in my mouth, I am also drying it out because it has to be open pretty much the entire time, it is hard to swallow because all pressure goes to my ears because it cant go out my nose.

I think a friend of mine had something similar done and he too was very unhappy for a while after the surgery.

Whatever the surgery was (deviated septum, I think), it required him to have these small "splints" up nose/sinuses and the sinuses were packed with gauze or something. Frankly, it was nasty... I won't go into details! D-: He was miserable until all that stuff was removed a few weeks later.

Anyway, I feel for ya and I'm sure after this time passes you'll find (as my friend did) it was all worth it! :tu:

Good luck!

Years ago, one of my friends had probs after surgery like you described (and it DID get a LOT better in a few days and considerably better after 2 weeks) and her dr suggested she take a decongestant to help with the ear weirdness she had going on. She had said it helped. Anyhow might be something to ask ur dr about but DO make sure to check if you are taking other meds before hand.

Yuk

My partner had a rhinoplasty several years ago to repair his snoz due to sporting injuries.

It was a ghastly operation and also to recover from. He had his nose packed with gauze. He was in a private hospital and the guy in the opposite bed had just had his haemarroids done (that's his piles - where is my spell checker).

One day they had to pull out this guys wadding from his rear end and he started screaming (not from pleasure) and my partner started laughing...so much so, he sucked his nose wadding down his throat. He had to call emergency as he was choking to death.

This story surfaces alot after a few drinks with a group. Always guarantees a good laugh, but mainly at the expense of the guy getting the wadding extracted from his rear end.

Didn't the Queen of England say she had an 'annus horribilus'.

Hey Matt, That looks good.

You'll be fighting the chics off at the local pub.
