Hi !

I've got a bunch of decent .co.in/.in city names. Has anyone had any luck selling some decent city name to an end user ? Anyone ready to share the experience/price ? :xf.love:

Thanks,
Pratik

Well city names are priceless in my openion Delhi.in and things like that , you should really not sell them but develop and generate revenue out of clicks.
city names are always highly targeted INMHO.
Good luck

i'd look at it this way: if it's a major city like bombay, delhi, chennai, bangalore etc ... then developing a city based portal would be the best bet: for classified ads, matrimonials, local directory, local index of restaurants, clubs, schools, colleges etc ... initially put on free listings.. and then when it gets popular approach the locals with offers to put their ads on your sites .... like hotels for instance or health clubs or desk-to-desk courier services, local traders, ... the possibilities are really immense.

if you sell such domains now, they'll likely go for pennies as compared to what you can do with them over time, especially when more co.in/in sites will start getting popular.

I agree with SM.
There is a great potential and oppurtunity, if you can build a portfolio of City Portals. But you may not get good prices for resale. I've sold you 10 city names, for 9$ each (incl of Kullu, Leh etc) , if you recall !

I think any India specific name has to have an increasing value potential.

The indian cctld is still only one year old in the open market. As the local internet matures and roars off in to the stratosphere you will have valuable commodities on your hands.

I sold 20 + state names just after the launch in Feb 2005, netted in excess of $26K. I do not regret selling, as along with many other sales I went in to an immediate substantial profit from my original investment, but I know they will only increase in value.

Still have some left which will be kept for a while :!:
